I wrote a full article on reverse image searching but wanted to touch a little more on what you can do for yourself to make sure you’re staying safe when you’re online dating since we’ve been finding a whole lot of scammers.
First, make sure to go back through my tutorial on how to find out whether or not the photo your new bae sent you is actually a fake photo. After you’ve exhausted that option and found no results, it’s time to put on your detective hats.

Look into what you and your new bae have been talking about. If they’re talking about being on a fun softball league, do a little digging. Most of those fun softball leagues will have facebook pages and will be pretty easily found and you’ll be easily on your way to searching for a photo that *should* have their face in it.

Do you have five photos that your new match sent you but they’re all almost identical? Think about what kind of photos you have and why you would only send them those same photos. Yeah, you’d definitely be hiding something.

If you’ve gotten photos of a very attractive person either taking selfies at the gym or with lots of friends or straight up car selfies, ask yourself “who else is viewing these photos?” The answer is usually a Facebook or Instagram audience. And if you can’t find this person on either social media platform, something’s definitely a little fishy.

Maybe the photo includes your match wearing a college jersey. Now, I know I have a Harvard sweatshirt and I definitely didn’t go to Harvard. BUT! I do have a hat that I wear with my alma mater on it. So who knows, you may end up finding yourself in the middle of the Discovery Zone.

Let’s say you got savvy and asked your date to take a photo of themselves with a number on a piece of paper. Unfortunately, thats not foolproof. I’ve legit seen that photoshopped.

Speaking of photoshop, I’ve seen so many travel docs (passports, etc) doctored where you might think it’s valid until that one teeeeny detail gives it away. It’s like right before you send an important email and you ask a friend to look it over, we spot that one thing you were missing the whole time.

What am I missing? What image questions got you googling the question “reverse image search”? Drop me an email at [email protected] and maybe I can help you a little further with tips on how to find your new match online.
And before you ever meet up with someone you met online…
Like I’m teaching you here, either do your due diligence or have us do it for you. Come on it’s easy. Just click below. People lie all the time about some massive red flags you’d want to know about. It’s gross and unsafe and you now have an option to let someone do the research on your match for you. For the price of the first round of drinks? Yeah, I’d say it’s worth it.
Love and light,
